War Horse

PG-13 for sweeping landscapes, timeless themes, subliminal soundtrack whispering “please give us an Oscar”

Release Date: December 25, 2011

Is World War I the next “It” war?

Perhaps you didn’t realize there is such a thing as an “It” war. Well, perhaps you have been living under a rock, eating beetles, sleeping on moss, and banging your head against your living quarters.

Of course there are “It” wars. For example: WWII, whose narrative reservoir Spielberg has already soaked dry with films like Schindler’s List and Saving Private Ryan. Or Iraq, which held the American public’s attention just long enough for The Hurt Locker to win some Oscars. But hey, Iraq is so Vietnam these days.
